Flight scams

Have you ever wondered why people approach you in the departure lounge in Bangkok airport asking where you are going. I found out why. I thought the customs had only allowed me four days stay in Thailand, I was approached by a woman who asked me where I was going, I said I need a flight urgently,I need to get in touch with Qatar airways to change my flight, she got on the phone to Qatar airways and she told me there were no flights, she even handed me the phone to speak to them myself, they told me no flights. ( I could of been speaking to a woman in her dining room across the road) the woman then told me the only flight I could get was with BA for £900. Yea ok i'll come back to you I said. lucky I didnt fall for it as immigration had made a mistake on my passport.

Always book air tickets online or by calling the airlines when in Bangkok. It saves so many hassles like this.

Many years ago I was travelling by thai airways to Bangkok from Australia. It was a packed flight but I was fortunate enough to have a window seat and a vacant seat to my right then a young guy taking his first holiday. Ten minutes into the flight a hostie approached us and said a lady at the back of the plane wanted to be moved because she didn't like the man next to her. Sorry to be loosing the extra room but feeling sorry for the lady we both agreed. The lady soon arrived and to my dismay she was no lady. Sitting down she quickly told us that as dinner would be arriving soon she liked to go straight to sleep so if we needed to go to the bathroom we should go now. The young man and I both got up and went to the bathroom discussing how rude this lady was. On our return we found our meals had arrived. Starting to eat the young man declared that his water tasted funny. Whipping off my foil I knocked back my water and thought the same. The lady between us stated it just tasted like all airplane water. This is the last thing I remember. After a nine hour flight I was awoken by a hostie stating we had arrived. The whole plane was empty eccept for me and the young man. Gathering my belonings and feeling disorientated the youny man declared he had been robbed! Fortunately for myself I was carring a money pouch under my tshirt. I soon realised we had both been drugged. By the time they figure out who the passenger is, which is impossible because she changed seats the whole plane load is already through customs. In future I will refuse all requests from hosties and loudly explain why! The young guy lost $2000. I have been told this is a common scam and how alot of drug addicts fund there holidays.
