Suvarnabhumi Airport - Departure Terminal. (SQ check-in area). Morning.

During last May '07, and Jan '08. Was twice approached by a youngish, Chinese national lady, speaks Mandarin in approach.

Description : Age, mid or late 20s, shoulder length hair, height 1.55m, pimple dotted face.

Approach : Begins by asking in Mandarin (or English) : "Sir, Do you understand Mandarin or English?"

She claims to have been robbed or have personal belongings stolen in Bangkok, and made police report. Asked to help her, and loan her US$ or RMB, and promises to repay by remitting the money back.

Oh, had this experience once in Don Muang airport as well. 2 chinese dudes claiming to have lost their money and credit card limit exceeded. Seeing I'm a chinese as well, they claimed "chinese should help chinese." My ass. I smile and politely said "No." and walked away. Shame.

a good way to walk away with a smile is to tell them in spanish (my spelling is wrong) "yo to quiere mamar la panoche"..... this means i want to suck your pussy. they will have no idea what you said, but you get points across... one, you are speaking a language they have never neard and teo, you have left them with a great insult, much the same way people speak of farang while in Thialand if Thais know you don't speak or understanf Thai.

I encountered something similar but not in Thailand. Someone approaches you and said that they just went to the doctor and did not have enought $$$ to pay for the medication. Asked if you would be so kind to loan her $10 and he'll pay you back.

Another encounter I had was not my house, this woman approaches me and said she had mental problem and is undergoing psychiatric treatment and could I give her $$$ to pay for her next treatment. I declined and walked away looking back to see if she'll run amok and chased after me and hurt me with her thick-soled slipper.

I am from Singapore and I encountered these two incidents in Singapore not in Thailand.

This is simple... just smile and say go see police then walk away?.
If your being bugged find a police officer point out the person.

One thing a scammer hates is attention from the police. or security..

Now if everybody did that then the scams will stop??.
