At about 10am on Saturday 15th September on the BTS walkway near Siam Square I was approached by the individual pictured to the left. He claimed to be fundraising for the upcoming Jamboree and had a book with him with names and amounts (supposed donations) written next to the names. He was very insistent that I must give him money.
I asked for identification and he started to recite the Scout Law, but could not produce any real identification.
I told him that I didn't believe that he was a real scout, and that I would not give him money. This angered the man, he turned very nasty and spat "f#$@ you!" at
me.
I request that you take some sort of action against this man. I don't believe he is a Scout - this man is abusing the trust and goodwill of foreigners, and using the uniform & good name of the Scouts to do so. Whilst he was not violent towards me, his sudden aggressive reaction when I told him I didn't believe him did leave me feeling that the man may be dangerous.
I truly enjoyed my short stay in your country and I must say that the unseemly actions of this man in no way reflect on the hospitality & kindness shown me by Thai people during my visit.
