Wat Po Landing Fee
Wednesday, 21 January 2009

"Wat Po Landing Fee"... As we got off the boat at Wat Po Pier, we were approached by a scammer who had an "official looking" receipt book, and who declared to us that we had to pay 20 baht each as "Wat Po landing fee". Now, this is all happening on the public pier, where I have disembarked from river boats many times. So I recognized right away that he was a scammer. I just told him that there was no landing fee there, and that he should f**k -off. I had to repeat that several times, each time looking more serious about what I told him.

I suppose that since there were two of us, falangs, and my friend weighs at least 250 pouns, the little Thai jerk realized that he was not going to get any money from us, and he finally gave up.

To this day I am sorry that I did not kick him in the balls and thrown him into the river.
